Fleur-de-lys small hairslide – a pewter hairslide with a rhodium-plated stainless steel sprung clasp. The clip on the back grips the hair tightly to prevent the hairslide from slipping out.

Fleur-de-lys is literally translated from French as flower of the lily, and is widely thought to be a stylized version of the species Iris pseudacorus. Decorative ornaments that resemble the fleur-de-lys have appeared in the artwork from the earliest civilizations. It has consistently been used as a royal emblem, though different cultures have interpreted its meaning in varying ways.
